Ski St Anton
Without exaggeration, one of the best and most exciting ski areas in the world
The World famous Arlberg ski area is the largest interlinked ski area in Austria! Four cable cars were constructed to bridge the gap between St. Anton, St Christoph side and the Lech, Zürs side completely eradicating the need to take a ski bus between the two ski areas. This ski-link has created complete ski convenience as most of the properties in our Arlberg ski programme offer skiing from the front door.
Famed in Austria as 'the birthplace of skiing', the magnificent Arlberg is one of those select few ski areas which fully justifies its 'world-class' reputation. Renowned for its challenging slopes, both on and off-piste, the area also includes many wonderful miles of picturesque intermediate skiing, from high altitude, snow-sure open bowls to picturesque tree-lined pistes down to the valley.
The area has two distinct halves. The first links St. Anton with its even higher neighbours, St. Christoph and Stuben, and then a network of cable cars link the region with the huge network of slopes surrounding Lech and Zürs, including the excellent 'Borderpark' above Lech. An efficient ski bus service is in place to connect resorts in the region with the huge network of slopes.

Location & Itinerary
The mighty St Anton is one of the best high-alpine ski resorts in the world and has the reputation of being best suited to strong skiers and boarders. But that certainly shouldn’t put less confident skiers off – there’s plenty for them too.
St. Anton is renowned for its challenging skiing, which goes hand-in-hand with spectacular scenery and lively après-ski. The long, exhilarating descents from the Valluga, scenic valley runs and world-class off-piste skiing attract keen skiers year after year who relish the bragging rights back home. Also included in the Arlberg lift pass are the exclusive resorts of Lech, Zürs, Stuben and St. Christoph. With the new Flexenbahn link opening in the last few years, all resorts in the Arlberg ski area - St. Anton, St. Christoph, Stuben, Zürs, Lech, Oberlech, as well as Ströcken and Warth are easily and comfortably accessible on skis without the need of a bus, making this the one of largest interconnected ski areas in Austria.

Beginners: St. Anton has a very experienced, professional ski school and the nursery slopes are conveniently placed in Nasserein, 5 minutes from the centre.
Intermediates: The choice of blue and red runs is plentiful on the Galzig and Gampen and better skiers will enjoy the demanding descents from the Valluga. For a quiet and easy start to the holiday try the Rendl. A ski safari over to St. Christoph and Stuben is a must, as is a day out skiing the “White Ring” in Lech and Zürs (now interlinked by the new cableway at Zürs/Stuben).
Advanced: A dare-devil skier’s paradise with many steep, challenging black runs in rugged terrain plus deep, off-piste powder skiing. Try your skills on the Kandahar downhill course from Kapall to the village or on the moguls on the ski routes that drop down on the other side of Kapall.
Snowboarding: Snowboarders will enjoy the many wide open pistes and the snowboard park on the Rendl.

Passport validity
For UK passport holders your passport must be:
- Issued less than 10 years before the date you enter the country (check the ‘date of issue’)
- valid for at least 3 months after the day you plan to leave (check the ‘expiry date’)
You must check your passport meets these requirements before you travel. If your passport was issued before 1 October 2018, extra months may have been added to its expiry date.
ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorisation System)
The rules of travel to most European countries have changed. Starting in the first half of 2025 UK citizens are required to have a travel authorisation to enter 30 European countries for a short stay.
ETIAS travel authorisation is an entry requirement for visa-exempt nationals travelling to a number of European countries. It is linked to a traveller’s passport. It is valid for up to three years or until the passport expires, whichever comes first. If you get a new passport, you need to get a new ETIAS travel authorisation.
With a valid ETIAS travel authorisation, you can enter the territory of these European countries as often as you want for short-term stays - normally for up to 90 days in any 180-day period. However, it does not guarantee entry. When you arrive, a border guard will ask to see your passport (and other documents if required) and verify that you meet the entry conditions.
NB - There is no official date for the ETIAS currently confirmed but when it is introduced it will be your responsibility to ensure that you have arranged this. We will update everyone when the ETIAS is required with information on how to apply for this online.
Travel Insurance
Please ensure that you have adequate personal travel insurance to suit your requirements in place before you travel.
A UK Global Health Insurance Card (GHIC) gives you the right to access state-provided healthcare during a temporary stay in the European Union (EU).
UK-issued European Health Insurance Cards (EHICs) are still valid and offer the same cover as GHICs in the EU.
Once your EHIC has expired, you’ll be able to replace it with a GHIC.
NB – A GHIC/EHIC is not a replacement for travel insurance!
