If you cannot join your trip because you or a member of your booking party is diagnosed with COVID-19 or has received a request from the Government to self-isolate you will need to make a claim on your travel insurance. Spice Escapes highly recommend you take out adequate travel insurance as soon as your booking is confirmed.
Change is a fact of life we know and we will always do our best to help. If you need to amend your booking in any way please contact the team to discuss what needs to be done; if we can do this without any charges them we will but sometimes they may be unavoidable. Cancellation of a booking is covered under the booking conditions of the holiday which can vary by trip and are clearly shown during the booking process.
All air holiday packages on this website are ATOL (Air Travel Organisers’ Licensing) bonded by the CAA (Civil Aviation Authority) and our ATOL number is 9046. We offer a variety of holidays using our own ATOL license but sometimes acting as authorised Agent of other tour operators under their ATOL license; each holiday clearly states which ATOL is covering that holiday. ATOL protects you from losing your money or from being stranded abroad.
The simple answer is yes, for a number of reasons. When you book early you get the best choice of room options and sometimes single rooms are limited; you may also be able to take advantage of any early booking offers that may be available on some holidays; and finally prices can rise in conjunction with flight cost increases so booking early will allow you to benefit from the best possible prices.
Absolutely, in fact it is positively encouraged! It is easy to do this through the Spice Social App which can be downloaded from the Apple store or Google Play – just search for Spice Social. Once you have it on your phone you can login and talk to others on your holiday and also discover some of the other things that are part of your Spice membership. It’s a great way to break the ice before you set off so meeting up at the airport isn’t quite so daunting.
All Spice Escapes holidays are exclusively available to members of the social membership organisation Spice, therefore to be able to book any of these holidays you must be a member of Spice so a 3 month membership is included with your holiday booking.
Many of our travellers book on their own and if they become poorly whilst away it can be a concern how they will cope and get the help they need. If you are poorly while you are away with us our holiday host will make every effort to assist you whether that is just checking in on you in your room from time to time, arranging a doctors visit or worse case visiting you in hospital.
We are not medically qualified so for the most accurate and up to date information on vaccinations please speak to your own GP.
If a travel visa is required this information will be advised in the holiday information. Our holidays are available for anyone to book however advice on travel visa requirements is based on UK passport holders. If you are not a UK passport holder you should check the travel requirements with your local Embassy.
Simply put, so we can help you. We ask for next of kin and travel insurance details so in case of emergency we can help most effectively and efficiently.
Our advice is that as soon as you book any holiday you ensure that you have adequate personal travel insurance in place. This will cover you not only while you are away on holiday but also should you need to cancel before you travel for an insurable reason. Spice Escapes have arranged a scheme with Staysure who are fully authorised and regulated by the FCA (firm reference number 663617) full details of which can be found on the FCA website www.fca.org.uk.

A UK Global Health Insurance Card (GHIC) gives you the right to access state-provided healthcare during a temporary stay in the European Union (EU).
UK-issued European Health Insurance Cards (EHICs) are still valid and offer the same cover as GHICs in the EU. Once your EHIC has expired, you’ll be able to replace it with a GHIC.
NB – A GHIC/EHIC is not a replacement for travel insurance!
Travelling anywhere without adequate travel insurance is not advised, in fact on all our holidays it is a requirement of booking that you ensure you have personal travel insurance to suit your requirements in place before you travel. We do ask you to provide details of your insurance before you travel so we can assist you in case of an emergency whilst you are away.

Absolutely not! Our commitment to you is that we will find a same sex twin share partner and if we can’t we will pay any room supplement.
Only if you want to! If you want a room all for yourself then usually there is a supplement for this, however we offer a twin share service where we will find a room share partner (same sex) for you so if you are booking on your own you have the choice whether you pay a supplement or not.
