Walkwise Walking Italy’s Rheatian Alps
Delight in Italy's stunning Süd Tirol
This year we’re heading off to the amazing Italian Trentino region. We are again off the beaten track and will be staying in a marvellous 4 star hotel, set like a jewel, surrounded by a natural amphitheatre whose panoramic star studded cast include the National Parks of Stelvio and Adamello. Similar to last year it’s set at quite a height to start with but with its summer lift system we can make the most of hiking up and down the valleys. Once there you are immediately captivated by the most serene and charming of natural landscapes. In every direction there are perfect panoramas of peaceful lakes and blossoming meadows, which are corralled by towering massifs that form stunning backdrops just like the previous year’s superb Italian Dolomites and Val Senales which provided such excellent feedback.

Location & Itinerary
The hotel is an ideal centre from which to enjoy the immediate area and is accessible to walkers of all abilities. There are delightful valley walks through lush meadows, where we pass by tumbling streams and pause alongside the tranquil waters of the pure Alpine tarns. Chair lifts and gondolas may effortlessly elevate the group up onto the high ridges and mountains. WalkWise hope to ensure everyone experiences the essence of this unique and dramatic mountain landscape. The whole area is a perfect starting point for all levels, with legendary routes opened by mythical climbers. So, to sum up, for as far as the eye can see are a series of lush valleys, interspersed with vertical limestone cliffs, jagged peaks, sparkling glaciers and magnificent mountains…all you could want in a walking holiday! Your reward will no doubt be unbroken clear views that seem to stretch forever.
Each day there will be a minimum of two walks. A moderate one of 8 miles 1,500ft and harder one around 10miles or possibly more and often double or more of that ascent (some hard walks require a good head for heights). Some routes use chairlifts, gondolas, cable cars public and private coaches.
The maximum walking height for this holiday is 3016 - please ensure your travel insurance covers this altitude.
Travel & Stay
Staying at the 4* Sport Hotel Vittoria is likened to being able to touch the sky with your finger! This hotel, situated within a mountain town enclave, is already sitting at 6,000ft. Its lifts take us to Cima Brenta over a staggering 10,000ft. This is an ideal destination for a wonderful mountain holiday for hiking. In winter it is a popular ski resort, while in summer it is an ideal location for trekking and walks surrounded by nature. Almost every day we’ll travel in a different direction to gain the most out of the local area. We’ll also take the unusual step of catching a cable car directly down the mountain to engage with another town lower down the mountain!
