Day to Day Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrival in Passau

Meet WingsItaly at the airport, transfer to your hotel in Passau. Enjoy a relaxed evening and a group welcome dinner can be arranged (optional at your own cost).

Day 2 – Explore Passau & Embarkation

After breakfast, join a guided city tour of Passau prior to boarding the luxurious AMADEUS Amara.  Depart at 5:00 PM with a Welcome Cocktail and Dinner.

Day 3 – Emmersdorf, Dürnstein & Arrival in Vienna

Morning views of Melk Abbey and vineyards in Emmersdorf, in the afternoon you can explore the fairytale town of Dürnstein (both optional). Arrive in Vienna by nightfall, enjoy an exclusive private concert onboard.

Day 4 – Vienna

You have the option to join the AMADEUS-organized excursions (at an additional cost) or opt for a more informal WingsItaly-led city tour, which uses public trams to reach key sites. There is additional charge for public transport during WingsItaly tours. Visiting E.g. Hofburg, Vienna State Opera, and St. Charles’s Church. (It is commonly referred to as St. Charles Church, its official German name is Karlskirche.) 

Day 5 – Budapest by Day & Night

Ship docks at 11:30am. Have an early lunch before 1pm. Included Optional excursion with WingsItaly - start your city tour with a professional WingsItaly guide through Buda and Pest. Visit the Parliament Building, the State Opera, Heroes’ Square, and the Fisherman's Bastion (No entrance included). Return to ship before 6pm. In the evening, you will enjoy an atmospheric cruise through Budapest, also known as the “Paris of the East”, which is festively lit up at night, revealing Budapest’s most beautiful side. A folklore show on board will complete the experience.

Day 6 – Budapest’s Hidden Gems

After breakfast, enjoy a short WingsItaly Excursion to The Market Hall, built in 1896, offers a variety of Hungarian specialties, such as Tokaj wine, langos, and Hungarian paprika. You will also check an architectural beauty- Liberty Bridge. Free time for guests to explore, Return to the ship around 12pm for departure at 1:30pm

Day 7 – Bratislava & Hainburg

Morning walking tour in Bratislava, including Bratislava Castle, Old Town, and the UFO Bridge. Sail onward to Hainburg.

Day 8 – Linz & Farewell Gala

Spend the afternoon in Linz with a guided city walk with Wings or join an optional AMADEUS excursion. End the evening with a Farewell Gala Dinner onboard.

Day 9 – Disembark Passau

Enjoy a final breakfast prior to disembarkation. Private transfers to the airport for your journey home.

Cabin information

C1 cabins (Haydn Deck)- Designed with both style and practicality in mind, our Haydn Deck cabins offer a peaceful and well-equipped space for your journey.

Each cabin features a spacious bathroom with a walk-in shower, luxurious Rituals bath products, and a hair dryer, along with a fixed panoramic window that fills the space with natural light. Thoughtful touches like a comfortable double or twin bed, generously sized wardrobe, secure in-room safe, flat-screen TV, individual climate control, well-stocked minibar and direct dial telephone ensure a restful and well-equipped stay. NB - these cabins feature a long window (near the ceiling / at water level) running along the wall.

B4 & B1 (Strauss Deck) - Discover the perfect balance of luxury and tranquillity in your personal retreat.

These staterooms feature the AMADEUS Signature Bed (available as a double or twin), a drop-down panoramic window for uninterrupted river views, a spacious bathroom with a walk-in shower and premium Rituals® bathing products, walk-in wardrobe, flat-screen TV, individual climate control, well-stocked minibar, in-room safe, hair dryer, and direct dial telephone — ensuring a comfortable and refined travel experience.

B4 cabins are towards the stern of the ship, B1 cabins follow on from B4 and continue to mid-ships.

Passport validity

For UK passport holders your passport must be:

• Issued less than 10 years before the date you enter the country (check the ‘date of issue’)
• valid for at least 3 months after the day you plan to leave (check the ‘expiry date’)

You must check your passport meets these requirements before you travel. If your passport was issued before 1 October 2018, extra months may have been added to its expiry date.

ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorisation System)

The rules of travel to most European countries have changed. Starting in the first half of 2025 UK citizens are required to have a travel authorisation to enter 30 European countries for a short stay.

ETIAS travel authorisation is an entry requirement for visa-exempt nationals travelling to a number of European countries. It is linked to a traveller’s passport. It is valid for up to three years or until the passport expires, whichever comes first. If you get a new passport, you need to get a new ETIAS travel authorisation.

With a valid ETIAS travel authorisation, you can enter the territory of these European countries as often as you want for short-term stays - normally for up to 90 days in any 180-day period. However, it does not guarantee entry. When you arrive, a border guard will ask to see your passport (and other documents if required) and verify that you meet the entry conditions.

NB - There is no official date for the ETIAS currently confirmed but when it is introduced it will be your responsibility to ensure that you have arranged this. We will update everyone when the ETIAS is required with information on how to apply for this online. 

Travel Insurance

Please ensure that you have adequate personal travel insurance to suit your requirements in place before you travel. Global Health Insurance Card

A UK Global Health Insurance Card (GHIC) gives you the right to access state-provided healthcare during a temporary stay in the European Union (EU).

UK-issued European Health Insurance Cards (EHICs) are still valid and offer the same cover as GHICs in the EU.

Once your EHIC has expired, you’ll be able to replace it with a GHIC.

NB – A GHIC/EHIC is not a replacement for travel insurance!

We will try to endeavour all special requests; however, the ships management are responsible for allocation of all cabins, we are unable to allocate specific cabin numbers by request.
