What does it cost the two of you?

On these holidays the double room is priced at £0.00 on top of the base fare. You each pay the headline price and share — so neither of you pays the single supplement a lone traveller does.

Will it just be the two of us?

No — and that is rather the point. You join a small group with a named host who handles the logistics, so you get company beyond each other and neither of you has to be the one reading the map.

Plenty of people arrive on their own. Some arrive in twos. Nobody is paired off, and nobody is asked why they came the way they did.

This is not a dating or singles-events holiday, and never has been. Most people travel with us on their own — plenty are married, with a partner who'd simply rather not go — and nobody is paired off, matched or seated with anyone in particular. You travel with a group and a host; what you do with your evenings is entirely your own business.

Can a mother and daughter book a Spice Escapes holiday together?

Yes. Spice runs hosted group holidays rather than singles holidays, and two people travelling together are welcome to book the same departure and share a room.

Do we have to pay a single supplement if we share?

No. On the 16 holidays listed on this page the double room is priced at £0.00 above the base fare, so sharing adds nothing. The single supplement only applies to someone who wants a room to themselves, and can be as much as £1,199 on some departures.

Is this a singles holiday or a dating holiday?

Neither. Spice Escapes is a group travel operator for people who mostly travel alone. There is no matchmaking, no paired seating and no expectation to couple up.

Is there a minimum age to travel?

Yes — 18. Spice Escapes holidays are adults only. Most travellers are in their forties and beyond, but there is no upper limit and no requirement that a pair be close in age: a daughter in her thirties travelling with her mother in her sixties is a normal booking.

Does my daughter have to be over 40 too?

No. Over-40s is who mostly travels with Spice, not a rule. The only age requirement is that both of you are 18 or over.

What if we want different rooms?

That is fine — you would each book a single room instead, and each pay that departure’s single supplement. The holiday page for each trip lists every room type and what it costs.

How big is the group we would be joining?

Small, and the figure is published on each holiday page from the operator’s own booking count rather than an estimate. A named host travels with the group.
