All inclusive solo holidays, with a host and a group to eat with

2 October 2026 · 6 min read

All inclusive solo holidays work best when the price covers the meals and the drinks and there is also a table of people to share them with. Spice Escapes runs small hosted group holidays for people travelling on their own, and a few of them are all inclusive, so you pay once, arrive with a host and a group, and spend the week deciding nothing more taxing than which view to sit in front of.

If you have looked at all inclusive deals before as one person, you probably know how it goes. The price looks fair until the single supplement lands on it, and then you picture yourself at a resort full of couples and families, carrying a plate back to a table for one, three times a day, for a week. Paying up front solves the money worry, not the company. These holidays sort out both.

Why all inclusive suits someone travelling on their own

On your own, every meal out is a small decision. Multiply that by a week and it is tiring in a way couples never notice. All inclusive takes the decision away. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are where you are staying, the drinks are covered, and the wallet can stay in the room.

It also takes away the awkward money moments that come with travelling in a group. Nobody is splitting a bill eight ways or buying a round they did not want to buy. When it is all paid, people simply sit down together. That is often how a group of strangers becomes a group of friends by the second evening.

With Spice Escapes there is one more piece. Every holiday has a host who travels with the group, gets everyone together on the first evening and makes sure nobody ends up eating on their own unless they want to. Groups are around fifteen people, and some reach twenty, and most people book on their own. If this would be your first time, our guide for first-time solo travellers walks through how the first day usually goes.

A week in the sun with everything included: Fuerteventura

All Inclusive Fuerteventura Winter Sun & Fun is the classic all inclusive week, done the Spice way. It is 7 nights at the Occidental Jandía Royal Level, an adults-only four-star hotel above Jandía Beach in the Canary Islands, with all meals and drinks included and a sea-view room.

Walks along the sand, a lounger by the adults-only pool, an afternoon at the Sanagua Spa or in the jacuzzi, sunset drinks on the terrace. If you get restless there are optional excursions to nearby villages and local markets. Your host is Steve Dell, so at dinner there is always a group table to head for rather than a room full of strangers.

Dates: 30 Jan 2027 – 6 Feb 2027. Price: £1,199. Places: 3 places left. For more weeks built around rest, see our chillout and relaxation holidays.

A city break where dinner is already sorted: Paris

City breaks are where eating alone bites hardest, because the evenings are long and every restaurant seems to be full of pairs. All Inclusive Perfect Paris fixes that by making your hotel a river boat, the MS Botticelli, moored a short walk from the Eiffel Tower. It is full board with drinks on board, so you come back from a day in the city to dinner with the group.

Two guided tours are included, the city by coach and Montmartre on foot, and the afternoons are yours. There is a gala dinner and, river conditions allowing, a night cruise. People arrive by Eurostar or by air and link up for the transfer, so you are with the group from the start. It runs for 3 nights, hosted by Samantha Pike.

Dates: 3 Feb 2027 – 6 Feb 2027. Price: £679. Places: 15 places left. If you want to know more about the river side of the city, read seeing Paris from the Seine, and see our other holidays in France.

A floating hotel by St Mark's Square: Venice

All Inclusive Treasures of Venice works the same way on the lagoon. The MS Michelangelo is your hotel, moored close to St Mark's Square, and all meals, drinks at the bar and a gala dinner are included on board. The group meets at the airport and crosses to the island by water taxi.

There is an afternoon across the lagoon to Burano and its rainbow-coloured houses, a day to wander, and a morning waking up in Chioggia. Excursions such as the Doge's Palace, Murano and Padua are optional and paid separately, so ask us what you would like to add. It is 4 nights with Samantha Pike as host.

Dates: 19 Nov 2026 – 23 Nov 2026. Price: £929. Places: Waitlist only. Our earlier piece on all inclusive Venice holidays has more on the ship, and the rest of our short breaks are listed here.

If you would rather not fly: full board to the fjords

Not every all inclusive has to start at an airport. Summertime Fjordland Cruise sails from London Tilbury and back, calling at Eidfjord, Austefjorden for Bergen, Måløy and Geiranger. Full board, the spa, the pool and the hot tubs are included in the fare. Drinks are not on that list, so think of it as full board rather than all inclusive, and ask us exactly what the fare covers before you decide.

What it gives someone on their own is the sea days. On a big ship those can feel long by yourself, and with a group and a host, Pam Harte, they become the easy, sociable heart of the trip. It is 8 nights. Dates: 21 Aug 2027 – 29 Aug 2027. Price: £1,129. Places: 6 places left. See all our cruises and the other trips to Norway.

What all inclusive does not cover

Honesty matters more than a headline here. Every Spice Escapes holiday carries a single supplement or a cost for a room to yourself, all inclusive ones too, and we explain how it works on our single supplement page. Optional excursions, spa treatments and anything you buy ashore are usually extra. What is included differs from trip to trip, so ask us for the list before you book.

If you are in your fifties or beyond and want to see everything we run, our over 50s solo holidays page is the place to start.

Questions people ask

Are all inclusive holidays good value if I am travelling alone?

They can be, because once you are there the meals and drinks are paid for and you are not watching every bill. You will still pay a single supplement or a room-to-yourself cost, so compare the whole price, not just the headline. We will happily set the numbers out for you.

Will I end up eating on my own at an all inclusive resort?

On a Spice Escapes holiday that is unlikely, because the host gathers the group and most people eat together most evenings. If you fancy a quiet meal one night, that is your choice and nobody minds.

Are the other people all couples?

Spice Escapes groups are mixed groups of people travelling on their own, and most people book alone. You will share the hotel or ship with other guests, but your group and your host travel together.

Do I have to join in with everything?

No, you choose. The host suggests plans and gets people together, and the rest of the time is yours to read, swim or explore.

Can I share a room to keep the cost down?

Some people ask about sharing, and the answer depends on the holiday and who else has booked. Ask us when you enquire and we will tell you what is possible on the trip you like.

Ready to pick one

If one of these has caught your eye, the next step is a chat, not a form. Tell us whether you want sun, a city or the sea, and how much you would like to do, and we will tell you plainly which of these suits you and what is included. Ask for Rob Thompson, who owns Spice Escapes and hosts holidays himself, or anyone on the team. Contact Spice Escapes and we will help you choose the all inclusive holiday where you will have company at every meal.
