The price on a Spice Escapes holiday buys a place in a twin room shared with another solo traveller of the same sex. A room to yourself costs a single supplement on top, and the figure is different on every holiday. This page publishes all of them.
No — not one of the 32 holidays currently on sale gives a single room away, and we would rather tell you that here than at the payment page. On 23 of them a single room is available now, from £99 per person for the whole holiday, and every one of those figures is on the holiday below it.
On 9 the single rooms have already been taken. On 0 no single-room price has been published, which means nobody has given us the figure yet — it does not mean there is nothing to pay. Ask us and we will find out for that departure before you commit to anything.

A hotel charges for the room rather than for the bed in it. Two people sharing split that cost between them; one person on their own cannot, so the difference is charged as a supplement. It is the whole holiday, not a nightly rate, and it is quoted per person.
It is not a fee for travelling alone. Almost everybody on a Spice holiday has booked on their own, and the twin share exists precisely so that arriving by yourself does not have to cost more.
Share the twin. Sharing with another solo traveller of the same sex costs nothing on top of the price you see, and it is how most people travel with us. You are not put in with somebody you have to entertain: you have your own bed, your own key and your own plans.
If you are coming with somebody you already know, you can book a room together instead — some holidays carry a double room that costs the two of you nothing extra.

There is a charge for a room of your own and it varies a great deal by trip, so the honest answer is the figure on the holiday you are looking at rather than an average. What there is not is any obligation to pay it: sharing a twin with another solo traveller of the same sex costs nothing extra, and it is a genuine option rather than a token one.

Most people who travel with us are in their forties and beyond, but that is who books rather than a rule. There is no upper age limit, and two people travelling together do not need to be a similar age: a daughter in her thirties travelling with her mother in her sixties is an ordinary booking.
